K-Lite Codec Pack is a freeware set of audio and video codecs needed for DirectShow based players such Media Center or Windows Media Player.

There are four version of K-Lite Codec Pack: Basic, Standard, Full, Mega.

  • The Basic version is suitable for users who want to play back media in the most common formats, such as: AVI, MKV, Ogg, MP4, FLV, WebM;
  • Standard can be useful for those who want a more complete codecs support. Media Player Classic and MediaInfo Lite are included. This version is suitable for average users.
  • Full package is for users working on video editing and encoding.
  • Mega version includes all Full package features, plus tools like GraphStudioNext, ACM/VFW codecs such as x264VFW and Lagarith and extra DirectShow filters.
