Who remembers the graphic adventures of the 1990s? And the puzzles associated with them that often had the most impenetrable solutions? In this article we will discuss a free downloadable video game from the Steam platform, entitled “Powers in Basement.” A title inspired by this genre of games, with a focus on the LucasArts-branded adventures.
Here’s how the developers themselves talk about it:
“Powers in the Basement” is a 5/6 hour point-and-click adventure game, intentionally inspired by the great classics of the 1980s and 1990s, with a particular weakness for LucasArts productions.
It is a witty and sometimes surreal game with clean humor, suitable even for children, set in a pseudo-fantastical world in which the medieval fairy tale is punctuated by anachronisms, elements of modernity, and absurd references to nerdy pop culture. It’s a challenging game made for puzzle lovers, for those who appreciate having moments of enlightenment in the shower or while cooking, but we’ve done our best to make it a tackable and enjoyable experience for casual gamers as well.
If you’ve long been a fan of this genre, well…we hope we can take you back to your childhood for a while.
As already mentioned, the game comes totally free and with hardware requirements within reach of even the least powerful and not-so-new computers.
