BandLab is an app available for Android and iOS systems (but also usable from web browser) that allows us to create our own music without any special skills involved. Anyone can record, edit, and remix their own music-from dubstep to hip-hop to house, rock, rap, and so on. The user has the ability to create beats, add effects using loops and samples from the sound packages available under royalty-free license.

On BandLab there are no particular limits to the amount of tracks we want to create thanks to a vast cloud archive accessible from multiple devices as well as via web browser. This archive provides a 16-track edited mix, over 300 virtual MIDI instruments, and over 180 effect presets ranging from vocals to guitar and bass. In addition to this there are also tools to match video clips to our tracks, a tuner and a metronome in order to optimize the recording phase.
Also present is a looper and mastering system to prepare tracks for distribution.

Among the virtual instruments in the MIDI editor we have:

The app is not only limited to the functions already described but also has a large community of interconnected users. There is the possibility to search for bands or members for one’s own band, view songs created by other users even through live streaming.

On the official website of BandLab, it is also possible to find tutorials dedicated to the app itself and guides covering a wide variety of topics in music.

In conclusion, we would like to say that BandLab is a true free online DAW with features that cater to all types of users, a large community, and good channels to be able to release one’s work when completed. It definitely deserves at least a try.
